What is a honeymoon registry?

A honeymoon registry is like a wedding registry except you are able to request items and activities for your honeymoon and have your guests gift you cash to use toward your trip.  With Go Honeymooning you can request Whatever you want such as airfare, dinners, cruises, tours and anything else that you would like on your honeymoon. We have a large list of popular “requests” to choose from but you can always come up with your own creative requests to ask for. See the How It Works section for more info.

Why should we use Go Honeymooning?

Because toasters are boring! Your honeymoon is the beginning of your lives together. You will remember your honeymoon as one of the great memories together. Your friends and family will feel good about giving you the gift that lasts a lifetime! Go Honeymooning gives you the flexibility to ask for anything you want on your honeymoon. Popular gifts include airfare, hotel accommodations, jeep rental, romantic dinners and sunset cruises. Some couples choose to include things like cameras, luggage and travel accessories. It can be whatever you want.

How much does it cost?

The site is FREE to sign up! We simply deduct 7.5% from the amount that is gifted to the couple, or lower if you have a Coupon Code from one of our partners or your attendance at a Bridal Show. Go Honeymooning is among the lowest service fees in the industry. The fees go toward credit card processing, bank charges and website operation.

How long does it take to set up?

It only takes about 5 minutes to set up. You may want to spend a few extra minutes personalizing your page with a picture and text about how you met and your honeymoon plans in order to get the best response from your friends and guests. Click here to get started.

How much should I ask for?

It is best to have a variety of gift amounts. We would suggest having a range of items with a gift amount of $50 to $200, but you may want to have a couple of items in the $25 range and a couple in the $250+ range. We provide suggested gift amounts for each of the items in our pre-set activity list.

How do we book the travel and activities?

You can either do the planning and booking on your own, or go through your own travel agent. The great thing about Go Honeymooning is that you have complete control and flexibility with the gifts that you request. The amount of the gift requested for each activity is set by you based on your research or estimation. Your gift balances will build up as you get closer to your wedding. At that point you request to "cash out" and we will send you a check for your balance, less the service fee.

How do we notify our guests about our honeymoon registry?

There are two ways to notify your guests. 1) You can send an email out through the Go Honeymooning website on the "My Registry" page, or 2) You can provide a link to your personal Go Honeymooning webpage with your wedding materials/invitations.

How am I notified when a gift is purchased on Go Honeymooning?

You will receive an email notification when someone purchases a gift for you.

How long does it take to receive my gifts?

Once you have requested your funds it usually takes 3 to 5 business days to receive your check in the mail. If you need a rush, please contact us via a message on our “Contact Us” page or at support@gohoneymooning.com to request an expedited check delivery. A fee of $30 will be charged for any wires.

What if I change my mind about an activity that someone has already purchased?

This is one of great benefits of using Go Honeymooning. We send you cash when you’re ready to take your honeymoon, so once you get to your honeymoon destination you can change your itinerary and spend the money on a different activities. Of course when you send out your thank you cards you will probably want to let the person that purchased the gift know that you changed. In our experience they don't mind at all because they just want you to have a good time!

Can we use Go Honeymooning if we live outside of the U.S.?

You can use Go Honeymooning from anywhere, however all funds will be in U.S. Dollars. You will also need to allow additional time for the check to reach your location.

How do I make changes to my registry?

You will be able to make changes to your personal page and the gifts you have requested by logging into your page and clicking on the "Create/Update Your Registry" tab.  If you would like to delete an item that you previously selected you can click the box to the right of the red "X" that is located next to each activity you have selected.  After any changes you have made to your registry always remember to click the "Submit" bottom at the bottom of the page. 

What happens if our wedding is postponed or cancelled?

We can do one of three things depending on what you feel is best: (1) We can hold your funds until you are ready to use them, (2) You can request the funds be sent to you, or (3) You can have us return the money to your guests.
